NSSN at Growing METS Matters Forum

Members of the NSSN have been very active in building fruitful links with a number of industries.

One sector in which smart sensing is playing a critical role is mining. The federally-funded Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) Industry Growth Centre is focussing government and industry resources on strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of the Australian mining sector. 

NSSN representatives joined a METS roadshow through NSW in March to discuss ways universities can work collaboratively with the mining industry to boost innovation and productivity. NSSN Business Development Manager, Dr Don McCallum, presented to industry representatives in Dubbo and NSSN Research Theme Leader, Dr Tomonori Hu, presented to the forum in Parkes. Numerous potential projects were discussed where the NSSN can bring research expertise to industry demand. The NSSN looks forward to working closely with the mining industry in the future.
