NSW Sensing Industry Connect: MedTech
Co-hosted by Venture Café Sydney and the NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN), the NSW Sensing Industry Connect will take place from 17:00 to 19:00 on 3 September 2020. The theme for this event is MedTech.
Nicholas Haskins, COO at NSSN, said the NSW Sensing Industry Connect event series is a chance for manufacturers, designers, and deployers of smart sensors to come together to network and share collaborative opportunities.
“This is one way that the NSSN is supporting the NSW smart sensing ecosystem,” said Mr Haskins.
Using Sydney Venture Café’s innovative and interactive platform, participants can virtually network with colleagues and peers from across the MedTech and smart sensing sector.
The September event will feature short talks from industry experts including Anna Grocholsky, Director of Commercialisation and Innovation at Macquarie University; Ingrid Marsh, Director of Industry Development at NSW Treasury and Serena Ross, General Manager at Circuitwise.
Circuitwise, an electrical manufacturing company based in NSW, is part of a consortium of companies led by Grey Innovation that aim to produce 2,000 invasive ventilators in Australia.
MedTech Research Theme Leader at NSSN, Jane Evans, said this is an excellent example of Australian companies collaborating within a short timeframe to deliver lifesaving medical equipment for our local market.
“NSSN was well placed to help Circuitwise access and connect with the right partners to be able to contribute to this important project,” said Ms Evans.
“It was excellent to see the Federal and State authorities working together to increase ICU capacity, stocks of ventilators and PPE by bringing together global companies via their subsidiary businesses in Australia.”
The collaboration showed the end game is always to improve the health and life of the patients, Ms Evans said.
