The Successfully Adopting Smart Sensing Technologies Breakfast Series Returns in June

The NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN) has announced its breakfast event series — Successfully Adopting Smart Sensing Technologies — returns with two events hosted at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in June.

Co-hosted by the NSSN, Investment NSW and UTS Rapido, the first event takes place at UTS from 8:30am to 10:30am on 7 June 2022. The hybrid event is aimed at businesses interested in exploring partnership opportunities with UTS to leverage the university's research strengths in engineering and computing.

The second event is co-hosted by the NSSN, Investment NSW and UNSW and takes place at UNSW Sydney between 8:30am and 10:30am on 16 June 2022. The event is aimed at industry partners interested in exploring partnership opportunities in engineering, recycling, renewable energy, and IT to translate research into commercial outcomes.

The breakfast event series will provide insights into how the industry and academia can work together to improve manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, reduce costs and develop overall sustainable solutions through cutting-edge technologies.

The participants will hear from successful businesses on their journey with UTS and UNSW, from early-stage collaboration to delivering a functional proof of concept, participate in an open discussion and network with like-minded individuals.

NSSN Manufacturing & Fluidics Theme Leader Dr Ram Vaidyanathan said: “The Series is a great opportunity to learn about the benefits of working with universities and subsequent cost benefits, including the R&D tax incentive. The NSSN is hosting this in-person event series to showcase key industry outcomes from industry-led collaborations with universities and foster relationships.”

The NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN), a consortium of eight leading universities across NSW and the ACT, is a not-for-profit innovation network funded by the NSW Government through the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer. The NSSN brings together universities, industry and government to translate world-class research into innovative smart sensing solutions that create value for the economy, environment and society of NSW and beyond.
