As NSW contends with worsening drought conditions and stakeholders across the state call for a new approach to water resource management, the time is right to explore innovative solutions to a critical challenge.
This workshop will bring together the state's leading scientists with key stakeholders from across the broad spectrum of NSW water management to share information, devise collaborative solutions and build active partnerships in two key areas:
Sensing technology- how can advances in smart sensing technology be deployed for smarter water management in NSW?
Data- how can we better use the data we are already generating for smarter water management in NSW?
The workshop will be opened by the Hon. Melinda Pavey MP, Minister for Water, Property & Housing and Professor Hugh Durrant-Whyte, NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer.
The morning session will consist of a series of rapid-fire presentations and panel discussions by key NSW water stakeholders framing the challenges they face. Following lunch, the afternoon session will focus on devising collaborative solutions to the challenges posed in the morning session .
The expected outcome from the day is a set of detailed problem/solution statements which will be presented to the NSW government, industry and NSSN for funding.
This is an invitation only event, for more information or to enquire about participating in the workshop, contact Dr Tomonori Hu at the NSSN at tomonori.hu@nssn.org.au or phone 9351 6049.
