The Sensor - August 2022
The State of the Environment Report 2021 paints a grim picture of the condition of Australia’s environment. The 2017-19 drought exceeded the previously worst-ever drought (the Federation Drought of 1895-1903) and the catastrophic bushfires of 2019-20 were followed by months of heavy rain resulting in devastating floods. Despite the grim findings, the report notes: "Immediate action with innovative management and collaboration can turn things around."
This month we’re hosting a co-design workshop in response to the recent devastating floods in NSW. The NSSN has previously brought together the state’s brightest minds to address COVID-19, droughts, bushfires and other significant challenges of our time. In this workshop, we aim to facilitate collaboration between diverse stakeholders to devise innovative smart sensing solutions to the challenge of flooding. Read on to learn more.
