Women in Sensing: The Rise of FemTech

The NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN) is thrilled to announce a new event series focused on showcasing women-led research and innovations from across the network.

Dubbed Women In Sensing, the first event in the series will focus on FemTech and will be hosted at Macquarie University from 12:00pm to 1:30pm on 12 September 2022.

The event will investigate the growing opportunity and importance of research and technology in addressing the complex health issues faced by women.

A panel of experts from different areas of healthcare will discuss recent progress in the field, the role of FemTech, and share their ideas and innovations for what’s next.

Moderated by Allira Hudson-Gofers, Principal and Practice Group Leader - Engineering and ICT Patents, Spruson & Ferguson, the panel will include:

  • Dr Aleisha Davis, Chief Clinical Officer, The Shepherd Centre

  • Prof Bamini Gopinath, Cochlear Chair in Hearing and Health and Professor, Macquarie University Hearing

  • Dr Noushin Nasiri, Head of the NanoTech Laboratory, Macquarie University & NSSN Ambassador

  • Dr Rowena Mobbs, Specialist Clinician - Neurologist, Macquarie University Clinical Associates, Centre for Ageing, Cognition, and Wellbeing

The panel discussion will be followed by a networking lunch and an optional Innovations Tour.

This event is open to attendees from all walks of life, we welcome anyone with an interest in the topic to come along.
