NSSN welcomes two new Board Members
The NSSN is proud to announce the newest additions to its Board, Dr Abby Bloom and Loïc Barancourt.
Dr Abby Bloom is an experienced company director, chair, and risk and audit specialist. She has founded several MedTech and health companies and has advised companies, universities, and startups on innovation since 1999. Dr Bloom currently chairs the Australian Composites Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (ACM CRC), an industry-led research program developing advanced composite materials and automated manufacturing solutions for applications such as aerospace, hydrogen transport, marine repair, and high-end carbon wheels.
Previously, Dr Bloom was a director at Sydney Water, Western Sydney Local Health District, and The Children’s Hospitals, as well as the State Insurance Regulatory Authority. She has chaired numerous audit and risk committees for NSW Government agencies and currently serves on the Advisory Board of ACS NSW and Amelio Health.
Her early career included leading global health, water, and sanitation programs at USAID and advising 20+ governments via UNICEF, The World Bank, and others. She later worked in Australian healthcare strategy before focusing on governance and innovation.
Dr Bloom holds degrees from Yale, Northwestern, and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Sydney. A Fellow of the AICD, she is passionate about sensor-enabled technology for health, ageing, and asset management.

Loïc Barancourt is a French-Australian entrepreneur, tech executive and board director (GAICD) with a passion for leveraging AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and ClimateTech to drive carbon neutrality and enhance productivity across industries. He has extensive experience in governance, strategic oversight, and commercialisation, helping organisations translate emerging technologies into scalable, impactful solutions.
With over 15 years of experience scaling IoT businesses globally, Mr Barancourt has developed a deep expertise in the global IoT market and its commercialisation. As Chief Commercial Officer of UnaBiz, he played a pivotal role in the company’s global expansion, M&A strategy, and operational scale-up, enabling the connection of over 14 million IoT sensors worldwide.
Mr Barancourt also co-founded and was co-chair of the 0G Association, representing 0G Operators across nearly 70 countries, with a collective $300m investment in IoT network infrastructure. He holds a Master of Energy & Telecom Engineering from CentraleSupelec in Paris-Saclay; and a Master of Business & Management from ESCP Europe (Paris & London), completed in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr Bloom and Mr Barancourt replace outgoing Board members, Dr Diana Day and Natasha Rawlings.
